Visit of the Polish Ambassador to Protostar Labs
Protostar Labs had the pleasure of welcoming H.E. Mr Paweł Czerwiński, Ambassador of the Republic of Poland to Croatia, together with Mrs Agnieszka Czerwińska, to our offices. The visit provided an opportunity to present Protostar Labs’ work in space and dual-use technologies, including onboard data processing, FPGA-accelerated artificial intelligence and optical payloads. More importantly, it opened a broader conversation about industrial development, regional cooperation and the opportunities that closer relations between Croatia and Poland could create.

Protostar Labs and UMass Lowell bring onboard cloud segmentation to the stratosphere with CLIC 1
We are excited to share a major milestone in our onboard data processing program. Together with the University of Massachusetts Lowell (UML), we flew a Protostar Labs cloud segmentation IP core on a high-altitude scientific balloon, running live inference on real imagery near the top of the stratosphere. The flight, part of the CLIC 1 mission, is also the first joint result under a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between our two teams.

Protostar Labs has signed a Letter of Intent as part of the Three Seas Initiative Business Forum in Dubrovnik, joining leading space-sector companies from Croatia, Poland, Greece, Czechia, Slovenia, and Slovakia in the establishment of the “Three Seas Hybrid Constellation.” The initiative creates a framework for regional cooperation in Earth observation, satellite data sharing, and interoperable ground infrastructure, with the goal of strengthening technological sovereignty, crisis resilience, and security across Central and Eastern Europe.
